Canada Crossing—June 7, 2010

Our first picture upon entering Canada was the welcome sign!

We didn’t have any trouble crossing the border. We enjoyed the sights of British Columbia as we drove along Canada Highway 1 at the beginning of our trip.

We stopped in Hope, BC to visit an information center. It was a cloudy, rainy day.

As we drove, we stopped to do some geocaching as Bob had loaded several the night before. One was near this waterfall.

We traveled along Canada Highway 1 stopping at Ashcroft Manor to look for a cache.

The plan was to find the cache, then visit the gift shop. We found the cache, but the gift shop was closed.

We stopped at a pullout to view the railroad trestle across the way.

If you enlarge the picture by clicking on it, you can see the trestle.

We continued on Highway 1 until we reached Cache Creek. There we turned north on Highway 97. We stopped at Clinton for the night. We stayed in Gold Trail Campground.

From our site, we walked the length of downtown. As we walked, we saw their version of the sign posts in Watson Lake.

We stopped in the local museum to read and view some of the local history.

We enjoyed our first day of travel in Canada
