Once we left the parking area on Liard Highway the next planned stop was Muncho Lake Provincial Park. Well, there was a lot of construction on the Alaska Highway with some one lane sections of road. In every one of those sections was an ad for Tetsa River Services famous "cinnamon bun center of the galactic cluster." Of course, we had to stop, I mean the construction just tired us out and who wouldn't go for one of those cinnamon buns the size of a plate! Bob and Connie put their hands in the picture so you can get an idea of the size of this ooey, gooey delicious bun.
As we ours was delivered to the table, a lady from the next table, who had eaten hers so fast she forgot to get a picture, asked to get a picture of our cinnamon bun! I have to say of the two buns we have had so far on this trip, this one was the better of the two.
After stuffing ourselves on cinnamon buns, it was time to continue our trip. Bob and I stopped to admire some scenery along the way.
We stopped in this rest area to let some other campers pass us, but they also pulled into the area.
Then it was on to Muncho Lake Provincial Park. We passed through Stone Mountain Provincial Park which is famous for its stone sheep, but this trip we didn't see any sheep.
Did I mention that this trip the bugs are everywhere? Well, the front of our RV is a catch-all of every type of bug along the highway.
We finally arrived at Muncho Lake.
We chose to stay in MacDonald Campground as it was better for solar and we got waterfront sites! Strawberry Flats has more trees and fewer waterfront sites.
When the weather cleared a bit, Bob and I went geocaching. He climbed this slippery hill to get the cache.
Since the weather wasn't cooperating, we decided to soak in the hot springs about 30 miles down the road. Here we are ready for a soak at Liard Hot Springs. Yes, the air temperature was cool, well to be honest to us it was cold! But the springs looked inviting!
Larry and Connie enjoyed the steps near the divider of the lower pool.
I enjoyed letting the water flow over my back at the divider. The water at the upper end of this picture is the hottest as that is the entrance the origin of the spring.
The second soaking pool was closed the day we visited due to a bear.
We enjoyed our soak and on the way back to Muncho Lake, we had to follow the wood bison herd as it walked along the highway. Mama & Papa Bison need to tell Junior to get out of the road!
After two nights at Muncho Lake, it was time to move on. There is a sign post forest in our future.
