After Big Bend--February 24

When we left Big Bend we were anxious to get back to an area with internet coverage. We had limited internet while we were near Marathon, Texas, but lost it once we were 10 miles east of town. While we were at Big Bend and the reason we didn't stay longer was our hot water heater--it quit working!

Once we had internet coverage, we found a place in Del Rio, Texas that could repair the water heater. It only took 5 minutes and $200! The computer board on the water heater had gone bad. Thank heavens it was an easy replacement.

We continued on to Hondo, Texas before stopping for the night. The rv park was close to downtown and a very good restaurant--La Restaurante Azteca. The park manager recommended it and now we recommend it.

From Hondo we went to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. Bob went to basic training there 37 years ago. Needless to say much has changed since then. We arrived early in the morning and set up camp in the last available site!

We spent the day exploring Lackland AFB and watching trainees march everywhere!
