Visiting Family in Tennessee

Sol and that Freightliner chassis amazed us again as we drove north on US 441 from Smokemont to Douglas Dam Headwater Campground near Sevierville, Tennessee.
We were scheduled to stay at Headwater Campground for 3 nights. After we arrived, it was time to take care of the chore we love so much....laundry. Bob used the most recent update on his GPS to find a laundromat. Well, once again, the GPS let us down. It took us to a residential area on the side of the mountain overlooking I-40. No laundromat in sight, only houses. Down the mountain we went and found the Chamber of Commerce. The lady directed us to a laundromat about six miles away. After doing laundry, we stopped at the store for a few items then made our way back to our campsite.

Our campsite overlooked Douglas Lake. The site was level and had very little shade. That would have been great if we were boondocking, but we had  30 amp hook-ups and could only run one air conditioner. Did I mention that the temperature had gone back up into the mid-nineties? Well, it was hot!
Andrea came to spend the day with us on Wednesday. She spent the night and when she left we didn't know if Chase and Sarah were going to be able to bring Riley to see us.
As it turned out, they were able to come for dinner Thursday evening. Riley enjoyed playing in the grass until it got too hot to stay outside. She found the dinette and thought the area under it was just perfect.
Before they left, we got the prerequisite group pictures. There was no room for the tripod so Bob and I took turns!
It was good to see Chase and Andrea again. Plus we got to meet Sarah and Riley for the first time.
We had a good time during our short stay at Douglas Lake. Friday we would move on to Cave City, Kentucky.
