From Grassy Pond we headed west on US 84. We made a few stops along the way to find geocaches. We had a travel bug (Figaro from Pinocchio) who wanted his picture taken in Whigam, GA. After finding a geocache near Figaro's photo op spot, we had a picnic lunch--no snakes invited! We continued on to Bainbridge, Georgia. There we turned south on a local road toward Chattahoochee, FL. Our next stop was East Bank Campground on Lake Seminole. It is an Army Corps of Engineer area and even though we accessed it from Chattahoochee, it is in Georgia!
We spent two nights at East Bank. Just after we set up camp, the bottom dropped out of the sky and it rained for several hours. The rain washed the ants away, even though Bob had already sprayed to tame them.
On awakening Thursday morning, we could see shadows of bugs on the windows of the rv. Even though it was July, the mayflies were abundant and we were parked next to their breeding area. Try as we might to get rid of them, they kept returning. Finally, we decided to wait and wash them off right before leaving. This picture shows only a portion of the mayflies who loved the white of our rv!
Our site was on near the water and we had a good view of Woodruff Dam. We found geocaches in Chattahoochee and Sneads. We left Figaro in an ammo box at a local picnic area. We hope someone finds him and moves him soon.
From Chattahoochee we traveled west on US 90 to Bonifay, Florida where we turned north heading to Miller's Ferry East Bank Campground in Alabama.
It was another Army Corps of Engineer area. Once again, our camp site was near the water. We thought that we might have trouble getting a site since it was Friday, but the campground is in a remote area and it stayed relatively empty the entire time we were there.
Bob found a circular route with several geocaches, so off we went to improve our numbers. We started at Camden Courthouse, then rode the circuit with our last cache hidden at a roadside farm museum in Gastonburg, Alabama.
We stayed 2 nights at Miller's Ferry and then drove into Mississippi to Roosevelt State Park where we spent the next 2 nights. The weather was hotter than hot so we didn't do much other than take a five mile hike along the Civil War Trail to find four geocaches. Besides the heat, the ticks were out looking for new homes. We were lucky enough to discover all the critters before we got in the car to go back to the rv.
After driving and spending 2 nights at each place, we decided we needed to take a break and spend a week at our next destination--Barksdale AFB, Bossier City, Louisiana. The Louisiana Welcome Center provided many brochures with ideas of things to do once we reached Bossier City. We'll let you know what we decided to do as the weatherman was calling for more intense heat!

Nice bug pictures Bob. Hey we might go use your pool today with Lynn and Hoss. Take care. Cecil
Sounds like you're busy busy. Walked 5 miles in the heat--and I think I'm really doing something going around Torchwood. We invited Jennifer and Andy over for Steak last Sunday and but they were busy. They said they would meet us at your pool later. The water was just right. Gail and Cecil joined us and we had a nice time--missed you two though!
Glad you enjoyed the pool! We have missed it especially on the hotter than hot days!
