There was not a lot to see around Sutherlin, Oregon. We needed to do laundry and the temperatures were still in the upper 90s and low 100s!
Saturday and Sunday we went geocaching. We want to have over 400 caches before we leave Oregon. One of our stops was at a fish viewing area. Steps were built to help salmon and trout swim upstream around the dam. The steps are in the bottom left of the picture.
We walked down 99 steps (geocache question for virtual cache) to view the fish. We were able to watch steelhead trout as they traversed the steps! I sure would like to catch one of them! We saw quite a few through the viewing window and Bob was able to snap a picture of these two.
We went from the fish viewing area into Roseburg, Oregon for our next few caches. Caching took us to the Roseburg VA Hospital which was the former home of the Oregon Soldiers' Home in the 1800s. We also learned about Vaux's Swifts near the Umpqua Valley Arts Center.
On Sunday we went north to the historic town of Oakland. We found 3 caches--one near this covered bridge.
We have seen a lot of covered bridges in Oregon. Anywhere there is a stream or river off the main road, there seems to be a covered bridge!
We enjoyed our stay at the SKP park and on Monday we moved on to Coyote Rock RV Park near Lincoln City, Oregon.

More great pictures you guys. Lynn and Hoss are in Ireland. Sent me a E-mail that they were in a pub in Kerry. Sounds like they are having fun, Hoss was on his second pint. Hey I really like that picture of Bob with the beer and the Laptop. LOL. Have a good one. Cecil
Hey Cecil, you and Gail ought to join us for a week or two. We are having a great time!
